Thank you dear ROIer for your interest as an online mentor in the YIL Fellowship.

This grassroots initiative (initiated by ROIer Neta Hanien ) is about us ROIers joining forces with YIL Fellowship by mentoring their participants while they are developing innovative solutions for some complex but important challenges.

From May 22-25, 40 young talented Nigerian professionals will be participating in our first in-person workshop in Lagos, Nigeria. They will be accommodated and hosted by us in Lagos. During this workshop, participants will be divided into teams.

Each team will be working for the next 4 months, while being mentored online by an ROIer (in addition to local mentors) on developing an innovative solution to one of Africa’s challenges. The challenges were chosen by us based on research and collaboration with partners such as the UNFPA Nigeria (United Nations Population Funds).

During the 4 days workshop, we will train the participants and provide them with tools for innovation and entrepreneurship. The Leading facilitators will be ROIers Neta Hanien and Eyal Halamish.

We plan to establish 1-2 online meetings between teams and their ROI mentors (depending on the mentor’s availability). The purpose of this online connection is to create a plan for the 4 months online mentorship process which will end with a pitching event of their solutions in September. It is important to note that some of our fellows usually go ahead to scale up their solutions to become impact-oriented initiatives and startups after the fellowship program.

Who are we looking for? We seek subject matter experts in the projects (as outlined in the form below) or entrepreneurs — people with knowledge on how to transform ideas to products.

Kindly complete the mentorship form below and we shall contact you soon with further details and to schedule an introductory online meeting.

This event was made possible through the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation’s Grassroots Events Program.
